The Cover Page of "Typefaces as Blobs" which was my final project for a typography class. The point of this little booklet was to design a simple blob that best represented a specific typeface. These two pages explain what a blob is, their history as emotes, and the thought process behind their designs, and also gives a brief explanation of the rest of the book. The back cover of this booklet is simple and cute. Much like the book its self. The great serpent is character from the popular MMO video game Final Fantasy XIV and is one of my favorite characters in the game. The whole design of this book is to look hand made and old, like an old explorer's journal. This is the first time I have had some outside help on a project. In this case I had some friends of mine read over and edit the story I wrote and make sure it all read well. The art style for this book is meant to look like hand panted water colors. I wanted to get the feeling that a child had panted these paintings for this book. I also wanted the text to look hand written yet readable too. This is the final page for this sample. I want to get this book finished and printed eventually. Once I have a printed copy I plan on giving it to the head director of Final Fantasy XIV at a fan festival if I ever get the chance.
